Lukas Podolski’s Arsenal career is probably one that’s best forgotten. The Germany international never really got into his stride with the Gunners, and his exit to Galatasaray this summer was conducted with minimal fanfare. The forward has now opened up on his move to Turkey, insisting that he was expecting to link up with Arsenal on July 10, only to be seduced by Gala’s proposal from the first moment. The 30-year-old told how he had received a lot of offers from clubs, but that signing for the Istanbul-based giants was a no-brainer. Meanwhile Arsene Wenger has offered a positive update with regards to the injury battle facing Jack Wilshere. The Frenchman revealed that he anticipated Wilshere would be back by Christmas, with the England international now needing surgery to correct a hairline fracture in his left fibula. The procedure usually has a rehabilitation period of three months, so here’s to hoping no more complaints are found during that time.
