Thorgan Hazard is aiming to prove that Chelsea were wrong to sell him to Borussia Mönchengladbach earlier this year - by following in the footsteps of Kevin De Bruyne.
Hazard, the younger brother of Eden, was sold to the Bundesliga club for £6 million back in February, following a productive loan spell at Borussia-Park.
But the 22-year-old is now focused on emulating De Bruyne, who left Chelsea for £18 million in January 2014 after failing to convince Jose Mourinho, before setting the Bundesliga alight and earning a £55 million move to Manchester City 18 months later.

“I am trying to follow his path,” Hazard told Sport Foot magazine, according to talkSPORT. “He was not wanted at Chelsea, but he resurfaced in Germany to become, by far, the best player in the Bundesliga last season. The Germans are crazy about him.
“He is the epitome of a player who has progressed steadily. Now he is at Manchester City.”
Thorgan Hazard deserved a chance at Chelsea
Chelsea fans may have expected Hazard would be handed opportunities to impress under Mourinho after scoring 17 goals and providing 20 assists in 53 matches on loan with Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem during the 2013-14 campaign.
He then impressed at Gladbach, where he continued to rack up the goals and assists, but was sold by Chelsea midway through last season.
The Blues, however, ensured that a buy-back clause was inserted into the attacking midfielder’s contract.
Should Mourinho wish to re-purchase Thorgan Hazard, Chelsea have the option to do so.
Gladbach need Hazard to produce the goods
However, it’s not been a good start to the 2015-16 campaign for either the younger Hazard or Borussia Mönchengladbach, who are currently rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga table, having failed to secure a single point from their opening four matches.
If ever Gladbach needed their playmaker to produce some De Bruyne-esque performances, it’s now.
