Assistant coach Andy Watson insists Scotland are prepared to forget about the beautiful game and win ugly against Ukraine if it means taking a step closer to Euro 2008.

Hampden will be packed on Saturday when Oleg Blokhin´s men come calling and Watson would love to put on a show for the Tartan Army but, at such a crucial stage of the campaign, he says maximum points are top of the agenda and he warned Ukraine the Scots will battle right to the death in order to achieve that aim.

"It would be nice to play open, attractive football but that´s the ideal world," he said. "We´ve got to make sure we´re difficult to beat and we keep ourselves in the game. If it takes until the 89th minute to get the winner, as it did against Georgia, then an 89th-minute winner would be fantastic. We can´t have a fear of the game, that´s the thing."
