Major League Soccer is becoming more and more popular both in the USA, and in Europe, and is starting to attract some quality European players.

The standard of football in the MLS used to be of a much lower standard, as The American population were once focused on the likes of basketball, baseball, and American Football.

However, nowadays it is a different story; American soccer is fast-paced and exciting, and the standard of football is improving season by season.

The MLS has attracted many top Europeans including Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard, Andrea Pirlo, and Sebastian Giovinco, and there will be many more to come. There even appear to be rumours of Christiano Ronaldo playing some of his career in the states.

MLS matches have a lively atmosphere, and there is much skill, flair, and pace exhibited on the pitch during games. No, it is not the Premier League, and never will be, but watching the likes of David Villa, and Kaka provide enough entertainment for 90 minutes.

Take the example of LA Galaxy vs New York City FC last month. This game was a six-goal thriller, with The Galaxy winning 5-1, featuring the likes of Steven Gerrard, Giovanni Dos Santos, David Villa, Andrea Pirlo, and Robbie Keane. It was a thrilling encounter, made special by the combination of the European quality, and American youth on display.

So if you ever have a spare hour or two, and there is an MLS game on TV, give it a chance, and I am sure you will not be disappointed. Who knows, you may become New York City FCs next big fan.
