WWE Night of Champions 2015: Superstars that need to impress

The annual Night of Champions pay-per-view takes place this Sunday at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas with every championship being defended on the night.

Big night

The night boasts a good match card, and to make it a successful evening every single Superstar and Diva will need to step up to put on a good show.

Some have more to lose than others though, and the WWE need to ensure they get it right after so much hype on a number of the matches.

Here are the Superstars I believe need to impress the most at Night of Champions:

The quicker his storyline with Dolph Ziggler ends, the better.

It’s a shame to see Rusev lose so much steam and momentum after his feud with John Cena, and that’s the level the WWE need to try and get him back at. He’s better as a monster with a target of getting championship titles, not battling over Lana or Summer Rae.

I do think this would be a good night for Rusev to break away from this feud and be taken seriously again.

The pressure is on him now to impress at Night of Champions, and go back to the Rusev that dominated against top class opponent.

The same can be said for Dolph Ziggler, his talents shouldn’t be wasted in this feud.

Ziggler probably won’t be a WWE World Heavyweight Champion again, that’s harsh but it is true. So he needs to utilise his talents in becoming a huge fan favourite once again as, at the moment, he’s continuing to fall down the pecking order.

He needs to put on a good performance against Rusev, win or lose. Hopefully, that match can help him build some momentum into other feuds, and maybe even enter a title picture.

A poor performance will only harm Ziggler and his chances of moving up that ladder.

Sting simply has to impress, there’s no doubt about it.

He’s lucky, though, the fans love him - and he’s going up against possibly the finest Superstar on the WWE roster in Seth Rollins.

Sting can still move, but it’s clear Rollins will carry Sting through most of this match but it shouldn’t be made too obvious.

Sting needs to look like a legitimate, physical threat to Rollins and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Fans are already questioning what Sting has achieved to earn a championship match, with a 0-1 record in the WWE.

If he can impress and put on a fantastic performance against Rollins then maybe the fans will overlook that fact.

There is a lot of focus heading into this match in the first place, with the mystery partner.

All of that focus is now moving away from Ambrose which isn’t good for him. He’s taken a backseat in this feud which is a shame as he’s one of the most talented Superstars on the roster.

Most of the focus is on Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman and whoever the mystery partner is.

Ambrose needs to steal the show here. His ruthless and reckless style is perfect for this kind of match against perfect opponents.

If Ambrose doesn’t step up, then we will see more of the same and it will definitely hurt his development. It doesn’t even matter if his team wins or loses, a good outing is the key here.

I believe Charlotte will be able to handle the pressure on Sunday.

She’s now got a taste for a title match on the main roster, and it’s very different on NXT.

Pressure will be on her to be the one to dethrone Nikki Bella. Not only that, we simply need a good performance from her considering other matches between the females haven’t been up to scratch.

A good performance from Charlotte in a winning effort would be huge for her, and a great step in the right direction.

The tag team division is on fire right now. There are a number of teams in contention for the championship titles currently held by the most entertaining stars in the company today.

The WWE have brought in The Dudley Boyz who add a wealth of experience, however, they too will have pressure on them to impress.

A lot has been said in the build-up to this match, and it would be a huge shame to see this match being considered a flop.

If they are able to look good in the ring, look like legitimate threats to the champion whilst entertaining alongside the New Day, then we’re in for a great match.

Seth Rollins is definitely under pressure at Night of Champions.

He’s in two championship matches against two of the finest, and it’s up to him to help put on two brilliant matches.

If he’s able to do that and steal the show, then he’ll definitely establish himself as the finest on the roster, somebody worth investing in.

I do believe Rollins will be able to handle the pressure and impress. He’s simply too talented to let two matches affect his performances. All eyes will be on him come Sunday, and whether he’s able to walk out with both of his titles.
