Bayern Munich and Germany have been rocked by the news that striker Miroslav Klose will be sidelined for a minimum of three weeks through injury.

Klose, who has been in prolific form since joining Bayern from Werder Bremen in the summer, aggravated a calf injury during Saturday´s Bundesliga victory against Bayer Leverkusen.

The 29-year-old, who has hit eight Bundesliga goals this season, is set to miss Germany´s Euro 2008 qualifiers against the Republic of Ireland on October 13 and the Czech Republic in Munich four days later.
