Newcastle midfielder Emre has insisted he is going nowhere after months of speculation regarding a possible move overseas.

Rumours were rife that the 27-year-old Turkey international would leave Tyneside during the summer with former club Galatasaray among his suitors but Emre, who has three years remaining on his contract at St James´ Park, is adamant he is staying put.

He said: "I would like to stay at Newcastle. I´m very happy to play for Newcastle - I like the supporters and I like the city. I have three more years on my contract with Newcastle, and I need to say again to the supporters that I didn´t say anything."
