Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has insisted that the return of striker Daniel Sturridge will help create an 'exciting dynamic' for the club in their pursuit of success this season.

Sturridge could be set for a return to action on Sunday as the Reds play host to Norwich City and the Merseyside chief has suggested that the forward is 'one of the best that there is'.

The Reds, despite claiming a 1-1 draw in France against Bordeaux in the Europa League last night, have endured a tricky time in the Premier League.

In fact, Liverpool have suffered back-to-back defeats in England's elite division, so will be determined to make amends this weekend.

Reds fans will certainly be hoping to see Sturridge prove his credentials for the club in the near future.

One of the best

“On his game he’s one of the best that there is,” Rodgers said at his pre-Norwich City press conference, as reported by the club's official site. “There’s not too many that can compare with him when he’s at his level.

“For him, it’s just about getting himself back in and playing and getting the goals.

“When he can stretch teams – like he can with his pace and he has got wonderful variety in his finishing – and you put Christian [Benteke] alongside him and you’ve got [Philippe] Coutinho in behind that or to the side, whichever way we play, the other players can then support that and it’s a really exciting dynamic.

“We’ve probably been waiting for that for quite a period of time. Those types of players like Daniel, with that quality, can give a totally different perspective to your team.”

 Exciting partnership

The prospect of Sturridge and Christian Benteke starring up top together should excite the Liverpool faithful. Ultimately, both players are proven Premier League goalscorers and should accommodate each other well.

With the talented duo of Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho supplying them, there's no reason why they won't be able to improve the club's fortunes in front of goal sooner rather than later.
