Cottbus rue their Klose encounter

Miroslav Klose scored a second-half hat-trick as Bayern Munich thrashed managerless Energie Cottbus on Wednesday to extend their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to three points.

After a goalless first half at the Allianz Arena, Ottmar Hitzfeld´s side burst into life after the break to put basement side Cottbus to the sword.

Amateur team coach Heiko Weber took charge of the visitors, who sacked popular head coach Petrik Sander over the weekend, prompting furious fan protests aimed at controversial club president Ulrich Lepsch.
