Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster believes it would be "almost impossible" for him to experience the same sort of longevity in his job at the Bernabeu as some of his counterparts in England.

Schuster was speaking in response to comments made by sporting director Predrag Mijatovic, who said he wanted to work alongside the German for "a long time, in the manner of an English coach".

When asked on Wednesday about Mijatovic´s comments, Schuster said: "That seems great to me, but we all know how the job of a coach is, and above all here in Spain. Coaches are not as respected here as they are in England, we cannot be compared with them."
