Manchester United fans want Andreas Pereira to play against Southampton

Manchester United fans have responded to Andreas Pereira's latest tweet, calling on Red Devils chief Louis van Gaal to start the exciting midfielder against Southampton tomorrow.

After failing to feature against PSV in the Champions League in mid-week, Pereira tweeted that he's 'focused on the next game'.

United, of course, are set to return to domestic action tomorrow afternoon as they travel to St Mary's to take on Ronald Koeman's side.

Despite beating Liverpool at Old Trafford last weekend, the Red Devils have now suffered back-to-back away defeats in all competitions, so will be desperate to make amends sooner rather than later.

And it appears that the United faithful are hoping to see Pereira take to the pitch in the immediate future.

Exciting talent

One thing is for sure, Pereira, much like the duo of Anthony Martial and Memphis Depay, looks set for an exciting future in the game.

But the United hierarchy must hand him the platform to succeed. After Adnan Januzaj's temporary departure to German outfit Borussia Dortmund, Pereira would have moved up the pecking order in Manchester, so should be handed an opportunity to prove his credentials.

It's seemingly unlikely that Pereira will feature against the Saints, but he will surely be handed a starting role in the Captial One Cup against Ipswich Town next week.
