Rio Ferdinand: This man might be to blame for Chelsea's struggles

Published Add your comment

Chelsea might have halted the train of negative momentum with their win over Arsenal at the weekend, but there’s still plenty for Jose Mourinho to address moving forward. For what it’s worth Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has had his say on the cause of the problem at Stamford Bridge, and he believes it could have something to do with the form of Nemanja Matic. The Serbian midfielder, usually steadfast in front of the back four, hasn’t looked as solid this year as he did last term, and Ferdinand has pinpointed that as a possible reason for the Blues looking shaky at the back. In other news Diego Costa will today find out if he’s to face retrospective action concerning his behaviour in the clash against Arsenal. The Spain international was involved in off-the-ball incidents with both Gabriel Paulista and Laurent Koscielny, and could be sanctioned by the FA as a result.
