Liverpool fans are not happy with their club's start to the season and the latest news surrounding the Reds will do nothing to arrest their concerns.

Having lost Luis Suarez and Raheem Sterling in the previous two summer transfer windows, Philippe Coutinho has now been linked with a move away from Anfield.

His friend and compatriot, Neymar, believes the 23-year-old has the ability to play for Barcelona.

This admission by the Brazilian superstar does not mean Coutinho will be on his way to the Catalan club, but Liverpool fans are not hopeful of holding on to their prized asset.

Steven Gerrard recently said it would not be too long before the Liverpool man is touted by either Barca or Real Madrid, and he appears to be spot on.

Coutinho has developed into a vital member of Liverpool's squad since moving to Merseyside from Inter Milan in 2013.

His performances last season led to a spot in the PFA Team of the Year, and he is expected to be the main man for Brendan Rodgers' side once again this season.

The midfielder and his team-mates have made a slow start to the Premier League season, picking up eight points from their first six games.

Despite scoring a wonderful goal to take all three points at Stoke City, Coutinho has failed to recreate the form of last season and was sent off during Liverpool's 3-0 defeat at home to West Ham.

Having lost two of their star players in recent seasons, one of them to Barcelona, Liverpool fans are understandably worried about Neymar's comments, and many of them blame Rodgers for their current predicament.
