Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar admits the Amsterdammers are missing the influence of playmaker Wesley Sneijder in the early weeks of the new Eredivisie season

Sneijder left the Dutch giants in the summer to sign for Real Madrid on a five-year deal and Ajax have struggled to hit top gear in the early part of the season, although they still sit second in the table with 10 points from four games.

"Last season the system we played was largely aimed at him [Sneijder]," Huntelaar told Het Parool. "Now that he is no longer with us, things are more difficult."
