Palermo defender Cristian Zaccardo has set his sights on domestic and European glory after he was omitted from the Italy squad for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against France and Ukraine.

The 25-year-old was a member of the Azzurri´s World Cup-winning squad in Germany last year but was not named in Roberto Donadoni´s latest squad for the Group B double header, which concludes against the Ukrainians in Kiev.

"I can´t hide the fact of feeling let down," said Zaccardo, who has won 16 caps for the national team since making his debut in 2004. "Last month, after having been called up for the friendly against Hungary, I thought that I could have returned playing with the national team."
