Gary Neville has hit out at a Manchester United fan who suggested that Chelsea striker Diego Costa deserved to receive a three-game ban after being embroiled in controversy during the Blues' stalemate with rivals Arsenal on Saturday afternoon.

Costa appeared to put his hands in the face of Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny while he also clashed with Brazil defender Gabriel.

Ultimately, referee Mike Dean opted to show Gabriel his marching orders, but only handed the enigmatic Costa a yellow card.

In retrospect, the FA have taken the decision to rescind the Arsenal star's red card while handing Costa a three-game ban.

However, Neville strongly disagrees with the decision, claiming a one-game ban for Costa would have been more than enough punishment.

On top of that, the former Manchester United captain has hit out at one Red Devils fan...

Costa must change

Ultimately, you can understand the FA's decision to hand the forward a three-game ban. Time and time again over the course of the last year the Spaniard has hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons.

The ex-Atletico man has to learn and change his ways sooner rather than later. Chelsea's star striker belongs on the pitch but continues to put himself at risk with his antics. He's one of the best forwards in England's elite division, so should steer clear of controversy upon his return to the first-team. One thing is for sure, he has a couple of weeks to think about his actions.
