Football News

A stipulation has been added to the WWE Madison Square Garden special event in the John Cena vs Seth Rollins clash for the United States Championship. It will now be a Steel Cage match.

Match Card

WWE's Madison Square Garden special event is to be aired live on the WWE Network on October 3. So far advertised alongside Cena and Rollins, the event will host matches between Brock Lesnar and the Big Show, Chris Jericho and the Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens in a non-title match, and Randy Orton will take on Sheamus.

The event will also have the Tag Team Champions, The New Day, defend their titles against The Dudley Boyz, Dolph Ziggler in a match against Rusev, and appearances by Mark Henry, Stardust, Team Bella and more.

Stipulation added

According to NoDQ, the United States Championship match between Cena and Rollins will now take place inside a Steel Cage on October 3. This will certainly give an added incentive for people to watch the special event on the WWE Network in just over a week's time.

Cena regained the United States Championship from Rollins at last weekend's Night of Champions pay-per-view. He then defeated Rollins again in the rematch issued by the returning Kane the following night on Raw.

No Clean win

Prior to his WWE World Heavyweight Championship win against Sting last weekend, Rollins hadn't been able to win or defend a title without some sort of outside interference. The steel cage will certainly stop any unwanted visitors from entering the ring.

Whether or not these possible interferences come from members of the WWE roster or fans of the WWE Universe though is a different story.
