Manchester United youngster Andreas Pereira took to Twitter last night after scoring his first goal for the club's first-team.

Starting his first competitive match for the Red Devils, the talented youngster found the back of the net in style as he slotted home a second-half free-kick in the Capital Cup win over Championship outfit Ipswich Town.

Louis van Gaal's side went on to secure a 3-0 victory and book their place in the fourth round of the competition.

Pereira was certainly the standout player last night as he proved a constant threat to the Ipswich back four throughout. In fact, the Brazilian ace was handed the man of the match award, so will now be desperate to kick on in Manchester over the course of the season. 

He's certainly pleased to have opened his account for the club, as he stated that it was 'amazing' to score in front of the Stretford End. 

Huge future

The 19-year-old, who secured the club's Under-21 Player of the Year award for the 2014/15 season, looks set for a huge future in the game. The technically gifted star has all the attributes to prove a success in Manchester.

As well as being extremely quick, he's skilful, creative and has an eye for goal, so should go from strength-to-strength over the coming years. Van Gaal has a wonderful player at his disposal, so must now utilise him over the coming months.
