While Anthony Martial further endeared himself to the Manchester United supporters by scoring his fourth goal in as many games on Wednesday night, the young striker’s wife was busy increasing her ever-growing following on Instagram.

Samantha Martial posted a photo of herself, wearing Manchester United’s new third kit with her husband’s name and number on the back, from a well-positioned box inside Old Trafford during the Capital One Cup third-round victory over Ipswich Town.

Samantha has already caught the Manchester United bug, judging by her bio and recent photos, and fans of the Red Devils have increased her number of followers to 20,000 over the past few weeks.

Like the majority of Manchester United supporters who turned up at Old Trafford on Wednesday night, Samantha would have been disappointed that her husband failed to start against Ipswich.

However, Louis van Gaal sent on the recently-capped France international with 20 minutes left to play, and that was more than enough time for the former AS Monaco striker to grab his fourth goal for his new employers.

Martial is already a key player for Man Utd

Martial was not dropped by Van Gaal, but rather rested ahead of Saturday’s important Premier League fixture against struggling Sunderland.

The 19-year-old has only been at Old Trafford for three weeks but has already established himself as an important first-team player for Manchester United, thanks to a surprisingly effective start to life as a Premier League footballer.

Manchester United fans: did you expect Anthony Martial to be this good so soon? Will it last - or is he bound to suffer a dip in form in the near future? Have your say by leaving a comment in the box below!
