Ashley Young was asked to sign a new copy of FIFA 16 today, specifically over the face of Liverpool midfielder and cover star Jordan Henderson - and the Manchester United winger duly obliged.

Lisa Thomas - @lisa_thomas31 - posted a photo of the signed copy of FIFA 16 on Twitter, along with the caption: “Thanks to @youngy18 for kindly signing across Jordan Henderson's face as requested 😂“

Needless to say, Manchester United fans loved the fact Young agreed to sign over Henderson’s face - and you can see some of the best reactions by scrolling down this page.

To prove that it was, indeed, Young who signed the deluxe edition copy of FIFA 16, Lisa also posted a photo of herself alongside the England international, with the caption: “@youngy18 lovely to meet you today Ashley, thanks for signing over Hendersons face 🙊😂 “

Henderson was chosen to feature on the front cover of FIFA 16, alongside Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, back in July after winning a fan vote.

Young has a higher rating than Henderson

The 25-year-old successfully fended off competition from Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Tottenham striker Harry Kane thanks to Liverpool’s click-happy supporters.

One suspects the results might have been different had an Arsenal player been in contention to feature.

Interestingly, despite the fact he features on the front cover, EA Sports have only given Henderson a rating of 79 on the game.

That’s actually lower than Ashley Young, who is rated 80 on FIFA 16.
