The Champions League third-round qualifier on Tuesday between AEK Athens and Sevilla will go ahead despite the forest fires that have caused loss of life and widespread destruction in Greece.

A statement from UEFA confirmed the game, which Sevilla lead 2-0 after the first leg in Spain, will take place as scheduled.

The statement read: "After taking the advice of the Hellenic (Greek) Football Federation, and the UEFA match delegate present on site in Athens, it has been decided that the match should go ahead."
