A recent tweet by Rusev may have suggested who he could be feuding against next, the current Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens.
Rusev recently tweeted out: "Hey if you can't fight you should run. But It's surprising after all the running Owens isn't in good cardio condition. #iBeatZiggler"
This tweet came after the tag team match Rusev and Owens had on SmackDown this week against Ryback and Dolph Ziggler. Rusev, of course, noted in his hashtag at the end of the tweet that he beat Ziggler at the Night of Champions pay-per-view last weekend, whereas Owens fled halfway through the match on Thursday night.

This is also taking a shot at Owens size, which has popped up recently on WWE programming. A little bit of a low blow and disrespect towards the Canadian if you ask me because you don't have to be the shape of John Cena to be a good wrestler.
Nevertheless, this opens the door to the possibility of a future feud between Rusev and the Intercontinental Champion. Hopefully, a match will take place between the two some point after the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, or even at the event itself.
Ryback is yet to cash in on his rematch clause for the Intercontinental Championship, and could do so for the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on October 25. A match which Owens should win because he has the better potential as a champion.
This would then leave a spot open for Rusev to challenge for an opportunity to hold his first WWE title since losing the United States Championship to Cena at WrestleMania 31. However, there is one major problem with this, Owens and Rusev are both currently heels.
While they both work excellent as heels, one of them might have to make a face turn for this feud to work. It could still work with them both as heels, but this could do more damage than good, as feuds in the past between two heels have been more unsuccessful than successful.
As for which one to make the turn, I feel Owens has a better connection with the WWE Universe and more fans would get behind him if he did turn face. Therefore, he works better out of the two as a face in my opinion if the WWE had to resort to that option to make the feud work.
