Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has refused to blame poor defending for his side´s defeat to Sevilla in the Supercopa on Sunday.

The Primera Liga champions were beaten 5-3 - 6-3 on aggregate - at the Bernabeu to hand their rivals the first silverware of the Spanish season, but the Madrid coach chose instead to praise their opponents.

Schuster said: "I cannot say that five goals we conceded were solely the fault of our defence. Our little problem is more in attack than defence. Sevilla were very effective, and hence the final result."
