Napoli coach Edy Reja hailed striker Ezequiel Lavezzi after he became the first player from the southern club to score a hat-trick in 14 years.

Lavezzi bagged a treble against Pisa in the Coppa Italia after Vitaly Kutuzov had put the Tuscany club ahead to secure a berth for the Naples outfit in the third round. He was the first Napoli player to get a hat-trick since Uruguayan Daniel Fonseca achieved the feat against Reggiana in 1993.

Reja, who will lead the team in their first season back in the top flight, said: "It was brilliant. Lavezzi is a great player and I always watch him in training. He has great assets as well as being very mobile."
