Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has singled out Eden Hazard as his next galactico signing, according to the Sunday Times.

The Belgian was an integral part of Chelsea's title success last season, scoring 14 goals and assisting nine as the Blues finished eight points ahead of Manchester City.

The 24-year-old has been below his usual standards so far this season, but that has not changed the opinion of Real Madrid's head honcho.

With the Bernabeu club failing to secure the signing of David de Gea over the summer, they are keen to add a new galactico to their ranks in the near future.

However, the Stamford Bridge club will be able to draw inspiration from the Red Devils' successful fight to keep hold of their number one.

Los Blancos have a history of signing top talent from England, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale moving for world record deals in the past.

The publication believes Perez would not be put off by the huge fee that would be commanded for his signature.

There is also the possibility of Ronaldo being sold - amid suggestions he will not see out the remainder of his contract in the Spanish capital -to help fund a deal for what would potentially be his replacement.

Alternatively Bale could be ushered out after three years at the club, but Perez is a huge admirer of the Welsh superstar so that would appear to be highly unlikely.

No deal for Chelsea's number ten would take place until next summer at the earliest. However, when Madrid come calling they very often get what they want - so it may be time to start enjoying Hazard while you can Blues fans.
