Brazil striker Fred has expressed his "irrevocable" desire to leave French champions Lyon.

The 23-year-old, who is currently recovering from a broken foot suffered during this summer´s Copa America, admitted recently that he had "personal problems" with Les Gones president Jean-Michel Aulas. They do not appear to have cleared up and he has now confirmed he wants to quit the Stade Gerland.

According to L´Equipe, Fred - in a statement released by his agent Francis Melo - wrote: "Despite the fact that I am well settled in the country, in the squad of players and especially with the supporters, those who have backed me since I arrived, I feel that my cycle at Lyon is finished."
