Cristiano Ronaldo's new film is edging closer to the big screen and today the first official trailer was released.

The documentary will give viewers a never before seen insight into the personal life of one of world football's superstars.

The film, named 'Ronaldo', was sanctioned by the Real Madrid number seven and was filmed over a 14-month period - you can see the trailer by scrolling down the page.

The trailer shows the former Manchester United man talking to his friends where he reminds them that he is the best player in the world until January - when the next Ballon d'Or is awarded.

It also shows the Portuguese superstar talking about his relationship with his father, and his mother talks about the difficulty of sending her son to Lisbon at the age of 12.

His tight bond with his son is also shown in the teaser. However, Ronaldo seems less than impressed when his offspring tells him that he wants to be a goalkeeper.

Ronaldo also says in a voiceover: "Some people hate me, some people love me," he says over footage of his exploits on the pitch for Real Madrid. "I was made to be the best. That’s how I live my life."

It seems strange that a man who is still playing football already has his own film, but that shows the popularity of the Portugal captain.

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner is, alongside Lionel Messi, the best player in world football right now and arguably one of the best ever.

His 321 goals in 307 games for Los Blancos speak volumes of the immense talent he possesses. He currently sits two goals behind legendary Madrid forward Raul in the club's all-time leading goalscoring charts.

The film is released worldwide on November 9 and, having been produced by the creators of 'Senna', promises to give viewers a fresh insight into the life of the Madeiran born star.
