Cleveland Browns players reportedly want Johnny Manziel to start

Johnny Manziel hasn't had the best of starts to his career in the National Football League.

After starring for Texas A&M in college and winning the Heisman as a sophomore, Manziel was selected by the Browns in the 1st round of the 2014 Draft but had a rookie season to forget, ending up in rehab after a year of partying and not learning the playbook.

But Manziel got a start in week two after Josh McCown suffered a concussion and did well, with his Browns teammates now calling for him to be the starter.

Players want Manziel

According to a report from TMZ Sports, after a 1-2 start that has seen them only win the game that Manziel started, several Browns players want Manziel to be the new starter in Cleveland.

"We spoke with 3 starting players on the Browns offense -- all of whom spoke on the condition of anonymity -- who tell us the team wants Manziel under center on Sunday ... not Josh McCown," the report states.

Better with Johnny?

One player apparently admitted that he's extremely frustrated with the QB situation, saying: "I love both Johnny and Josh but its f**ked up when you have Johnny come in and play well and has proven to the team that he is the right person for the job."

"It’s frustrating to him and us when you sit a player down when he is playing well. Coach has got to understand you are messing up the chemistry and timing with players and its f**ked up."

"The team plays better when [Manziel] is in the game. I play better when he plays."

It doesn't matter what these mystery players say when the only person whose opinion matters is Mike Pettine. And Pettine is sticking with McCown.
