John Terry has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea this season and his career at Stamford Bridge could be set to end this summer.

The Blues' captain has lost his place in the starting line-up to Kurt Zouma following a poor run of form and, according to the Mirror, he is attracting interest from other clubs.

The 35-year-old has reportedly had several offers from Chinese teams and Turkish side Fenerbahce are also interested in signing him on a free transfer.

The Stamford Bridge club have hardly improved without their captain in the heart of the defence. Zouma and Gary Cahill were once again partnered together for the 2-1 defeat at Porto.

Having produced arguably his best form for years last season to help Chelsea to the Premier League title, it has been a rapid decline over the past couple of months for the former England captain.

But a poor performance by his French replacement in the 2-2 draw at Newcastle United and another defeat in Portugal last night could offer Terry a chance at redemption.

There appears to be a lack of leadership in the Chelsea back four without their long-serving captain and Mourinho may consider reintroducing the skipper - but the Portuguese boss seems intent on giving Zouma an extended run in the first-team.

However, the west London club's midfield must improve for Terry to rediscover his old form. The combination of Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas has failed to protect the defence so far - Ramires and John Obi Mikel did not fare any better last night.

There are some serious problems at Stamford Bridge right now and strong characters are needed to drag the Blues out of this hole.

They don't come stronger than the English centre-half and it will be no surprise to see him back in the starting line-up sooner rather than later.

But the question of whether he will be at Chelsea next season still remains - it's up to Terry to prove he is worth another years extension.
