Chelsea's best XI to face Southampton

Jose Mourinho and his Chelsea stars head into this weekend's game against Southampton knowing that anything but a win will spell doom for the club in their quest to retain the Premier League title.

The Blues currently sit in 14th place with just eight points from their opening seven games, leaving them eight points behind leaders Manchester United.

Chelsea have had problems this season and one major worry is the defence, but Mourinho has the tools to fix it sooner rather than later.

The lack of concentration in the defence at key moments in games has led many to call for the return if John Terry to the starting line-up. They may be right as he will provide leadership and guidance to his teammates. Mourinho should opt for the experience of Terry and the power of Kurt Zouma.

Branislav Ivanovic is not playing well and it's time Mourinho starts Cesar Azpilicueta on the right and Baba Rahman on the left.  The young Ghanaian took the Bundesliga by storm last season and should be given the chance in the Chelsea back-line to inject more pace into the team and provide another attacking threat down the left wing with his overlapping runs.

Kenedy scored and assisted against Walsall in the Capital One Cup last week and should make up one of the three attacking midfielders with Eden Hazard and the rejuvenated Willian.

Possible team to play Southampton

Asmir Begovic (GK)
Cesar Azpilicueta (RB)
John Terry and Kurt Zouma (CB)
Baba Rahman (LB)
Nemanja Matic (DM)
Cesc Fabregas (CM)
Eden Hazard (LAM)
Willian (CAM)
Kenedy (LAM)
Radamel Falcao (CF)

Jamal Blackman, Gary Cahill, Ramires, Oscar, Loftus-Cheek, Pedro, Loic Remy
