Villarreal striker Nihat Kahveci is keeping his fingers crossed that next season his team manage to avoid the injury headaches that blighted their last campaign.

Nihat himself was one of Villarreal´s biggest losses, with the Turkey international missing for over six months after suffering a serious knee injury during training in November. Robert Pires and Gonzalo Rodriguez were also long-term knee injury victims for the ´Yellow Submarine´, while Pascal Cygan was sidelined with a knee problem as well.

"The first thing that I ask for is good health, ahead of the tough season that is in front of us," he said. "Last year we had a lot of bad luck in this respect and it affected us a lot. For me personally, fortunately I am very well - my knee is perfect."
