Football News

Manchester United fans, hello and welcome.

It’s the end of the week, which heralds the arrival of two days jam-packed with mouth-watering football matches and, I’m sure, even more juicy gossip.

We’ve compiled a collection of the biggest breaking stories from today - hopefully they’ll be enough to tie you over until the weekend really gets underway. Enjoy.

Beckham on Ronaldo

David Beckham’s golden mouth has spoken and he wants Cristiano Ronaldo to return to Manchester United before he hangs up his boots.

The former England captain said that as a fan of the Old Trafford club he wanted to see Ronaldo there again, and it’s safe to say he’s not alone in that.

Ronaldo scored his 500th career goal on Wednesday night and continues to smash records with Real Madrid, so there’s not much hope of him heading to Louis van Gaal’s side anytime soon really.

Januzaj impresses

In other news, Adnan Januzaj created more chances than any other player during last night’s Europa League action.

The on-loan winger wasn’t able to inspire Borussia Dortmund to victory, but he did produce a performance that is sure to have caught Van Gaal’s eye. Here’s to hoping there’s plenty more where that came from.

The return of the Ferguson

Lastly, Sir Alex Ferguson will return to management for one last game. But, before anyone gets their hopes up - Red Devils fans we are looking directly at you - it’s only for a charity clash.

Fergie is set to manage David Beckham and others when a Great Britain & Ireland side takes on the Rest of the World on November 14. Zinedine Zidane is captain for the opposition, with Carlo Ancelotti stepping in as their gaffer.
