Manchester United supporters expressed their rage and dismay on Twitter after watching their side implode in the first half of their showdown against Arsenal.
Two goals from Alexis Sanchez and a strike from Mesut Ozil put Arsenal supporters in dreamland at the half-time whistle, and they were quick to let their Manchester-based counterparts know just how happy they were too.
Manchester United had gone into the game with a chance of getting back to the top of the table having been leapfrogged by rivals Manchester City - but the likelihood of doing just that seems small with time running out at the Emirates.
Red Devils forward Wayne Rooney took the brunt of the criticism for another poor performance in which he struggled to get into the game, while Marouane Fellaini and Antonio Valencia were bought on for Memphis Depay and Matteo Darmian, who also struggled.
Rooney rounded off an all-round poor appearance with a yellow card in the second half. One disgruntled fan tweeted: 4 things learned already (Update) 1) Youngy never a LB! 2) Carrick/Bastian shouldn't start together 3) Time to DROP ROONEY 4) Depay=Erratic", while another added: "Martial is fantastic. the sooner the team ditches Rooney and lets Memphis and Martial be the focus of all attacks, the better."
Louis van Gaal didn't get off lightly either, with fans criticising the Dutch coach for everything, from his team selection to his tactics. A Manchester United fan conceded: "I think Wenger has taught Van Gaal a mastery in management today. He's always been the superior manager and forever will be. Fair play AFC."
Of course, Arsenal fans were delighted with what they were seeing, just days after some were calling for Wenger to be sacked following their disastrous 3-2 Champions League defeat against Olympiakos. Both Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil were singled out for praise by the Arsenal faithful in particular.
