LeBron James tells Cavaliers to get Tristan Thompson deal done

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Tristan Thompson continue to be at odds over a potential new long-term contract, and it appears franchise star LeBron James has finally had enough.

James was confident earlier in the offseason that Thompson would sign a deal with the Cavs but had remained largely quiet since.

Having his say

Now though, with no deal in sight and the Cavaliers in training camp without the young two-way star, James has taken to Instagram to effectively issue an ultimatum to Cleveland.

Posting a photo to his official account showing himself and Thompson together, apparently taken at a Miami wedding over the weekend, LeBron's message was crystal clear:

Thompson, who shares an agent with LeBron, is now in the midst of a holdout from the Ohio franchise after rejecting the one-year qualifying offer that had been on the table until last Thursday's deadline.

The 24-year-old has been hoping for max-contract worth in excess of $90 million over five-years. However, with the Cavs already having issues relating to the salary cap, there has been little common ground in negotiations so far.

Now that James is inserting himself somewhat into the discussion, the Cavaliers may have a little more motivation to consider Thompson's demands, though.

The last thing they want is a frustrated LeBron heading into the 2015-16 season.
