Arsenal troll Manchester United with Alexis Sanchez tweet

Arsenal have trolled Manchester United and Manchester City on Twitter by calling Alexis Sanchez “the scourge of Manchester” alongside photographs of the Chile international scoring goals past David de Gea and Joe Hart.

Sanchez was in majestic form against the Red Devils on Sunday, scoring two goals in the 3-0 win over Louis van Gaal’s side.

His first was an exquisite flick at the near post, but that was bettered by his second strike less than 15 minutes later: a rasping drive into the top right-hand corner after skinning United right-back Matteo Darmian.

“.@Alexis_Sanchez - the scourge of Manchester!” Arsenal tweeted, less than 24 hours after their emphatic victory over the Red Devils, with side-by-side photos of Sanchez’s two goals.

The Chilean’s goal against Manchester City - a wonderful volley - was scored shortly after he arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Barcelona in the summer of 2014.

Alexis has hit top gear again

Following a hectic summer, which saw him lift the Copa America trophy, Sanchez has finally rediscovered his best form in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old scored a superb hat-trick in the 5-2 win over Leicester City on the weekend before last, and also netted in last week’s 3-2 defeat to Olympiakos.

But against Manchester United - a team some believe will be fighting it out for the Premier League title come the end of the season - he was magnificent.

Unquestionably one of Arsene Wenger’s best ever signings, the South American will have a key role to play if the Gunners are to end their 12-year wait for the league title next May.
