Barcelona interested in January deal for Philippe Coutinho

It’s safe to assume confusion reigns at Anfield at the moment. Brendan Rodgers was of course relieved of his duties after yesterday’s draw with Everton, and there could be more bad news creeping over the horizon. It’s purported that first-team star Philippe Coutinho is being targeted by Barcelona for the January transfer window, with the Catalans ready to spend as much as £30million on him when their transfer embargo is lifted. Naturally, whoever replaces Rodgers will want to stop that. By the time they come in though it may be too late. Other rumours today focus on who that man might be. Jurgen Klopp, of Borussia Dortmund fame, is in the picture, as is ex-Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti. Fans seem to be split on just who they want, but it should be resolved sooner rather than later.
