After another fine performance against one of the Premier League's elite, Ronald Koeman has saluted his Senegalese star Sadio Mane and wants Southampton fans to appreciate the star for his showings.

The Saints toppled strugglers Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Mane playing a large part in the impressive win.

And according to Sky Sports, Koeman has hinted that Mane could soon leave the club as a result of his fine displays, and feels that the club should admire and applaud his work whilst they still can.

He said: "Maybe one day we will lose Mane but then we have to be prepared."

"You know in our situation that kind of player, if they play like today, there will come a lot of interest in the end of the season, but now we enjoy watching Mane in our team.

The 23-year-old signed from Red Bull Salzburg for a hefty £11.8 million considering how unfamiliar his talent was, but the lightning pace, fast feet and tireless running has seen him repay that figure and then some, scoring 11 goals in 37 appearances.

Southampton have become a club renowned for discovering hidden talents in recent years, with their scouting network hailed as one of the best in the Premier League.

Solidifying themselves as a top Premier League side since their promotion in 2012, the Europa League hopefuls have consistently regenerated season after season despite selling their prised assets.

Mane, then, appears to be another name that could be added to that list. His talent is undoubted and Koeman feels he is on the way to bigger things, with the Saints struggling to keep up with his ability.

However, it is a fact that Southampton fans will have become accustomed to by now, with there little doubt that the Southern side can reap the benefits of what will be a hefty transfer fee and adequately replace their star striker should he make his predicted move.
