Petr Cech spoke highly of his Arsenal teammate, Alexis Sanchez, after an outstanding 3-0 victory against title rivals Manchester United. Cech, who had a stellar showing, praised Sanchez for his "energy and enthusiasm" that he brings to every game, capped by a man-of-the-match performance against the Red Devils.

Both Cech and Sanchez were vital in the Gunners' success against United this past Sunday; The Chilean scored twice in 15 minutes while Cech made vital stops throughout the match, highlighted by Anthony Martial's blocked shot during the second half of the game.

The goalkeeper said: "We're pleased that he's back with his energy, with his enthusiasm and you can see that he feels confident, and with performances like that, it's great for the team.

"We managed to get ourselves the advantage and I think we did remarkably well to control the game afterwards," he added.

The result now puts Arsenal in second place, just ahead of Manchester United. Both sides have 16 points after eight games, with the Gunners holding the lead thanks to Sanchez and Ozil, who were responsible for all three of Arsenal's goals.

The second international break is upon us, and that leaves room for Alexis to shake off a possible groin injury that he sustained in the 80th minute of the match when he was replaced by Kieran Gibbs. Next up for Arsenal is Watford away from home. Will they be able to maintain this hot streak?
