Theo Walcott: Arsenal stars held player meeting before Man United win

Published 2 Comments

Even the most blinkered Arsenal fan couldn’t have realistically predicted that the Gunners would bowl over Manchester United 3-0 when the two sides met at the weekend. But they did - that’s football. One man who definitely outperformed expectation was Theo Walcott, and he’s since admitted that he and his teammates held a player meeting in the build up to the game that inspired them to victory. Spirits were down after the demoralising Champions League loss to Olympiacos last week, and the meeting appears to have turned that around. Either that or United were just really bad on the day. Take your pick. Elsewhere, Francis Coquelin has admitted that he’s had help from Gunners legend Robert Pires. The French midfielder, brought in from the cold mid-way through last season, has become an important fixture in Arsene Wenger’s team. He said Pires had given him tips and advice.
