Michael Kidd-Gilchrist could miss the entire NBA season with shoulder injury

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is set to undergo surgery on his shoulder and may miss the entirety of the upcoming NBA season, according to Yahoo Sports sources. The small forward damaged his right shoulder during the Charlotte Hornets’ preseason victory over the Orlando Magic, with an MRI scan yesterday revealing the full extent of the problem. As a result the 22-year-old, who only signed a contract extension worth $52m in September, is believed to be out for at least the next six months, making a return to the lineup this year unlikely. Moving on, and in the NFL the league has admitted officials made a hash of the ending to the Seattle Seahawks v Detroit Lions match last night. The Lions were down 13-10 with just two minutes to play when Seahawks linebacker K.J Wright knocked the ball out of the back of the end zone. NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino has since admitted it might have been illegal and they’re to review all the angles.
