Jurgen Klopp expected to be announced as Liverpool manager Friday

The wait for Liverpool’s new manager could be over by the end of the week, with reports suggesting that Jurgen Klopp might be announced as Brendan Rodgers’ successor on Friday. Speculation has raged since Rodgers’ departure, with Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti the two men most frequently linked with the job. However, it’s believed now that the former has moved into pole position - no surprise given Ancelotti’s superstar reputation - and might sign on for an Anfield project within the next two days. He worked wonders with Borussia Dortmund, although Liverpool are a different beast altogether. Meanwhile, Reds legend Jamie Carragher couldn’t resist taking a dig at former teammate Steven Gerrard yesterday, uploading a picture to his Instagram that openly mocked Gerrard’s new autobiography. Carragher said his son was having trouble sleeping, which is why he handed him the book.
