Incoming Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a fan of Brazil international Roberto Firmino, according to the Mirror.

The report claims that the German coach, who looks set to replace Brendan Rodgers in the Anfield dugout imminently, has already established an opinion on the 24-year-old who completed a move to Merseyside in the summer transfer window.

Firmino has endured a tricky opening couple of months in the Premier League. After failing to establish himself as a key player under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers, the versatile midfielder will now be determined to prove his credentials under the new regime.

It certainly appears that he will be handed the opportunity to impress under Klopp, with the enigmatic manager reportedly a fan of his.

In fact, the Mirror goes on to claim that Klopp could have recommended the playmaker to the club ahead of his £29 million move from Hoffenheim.

Exciting time

One thing is for sure, it's an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan. Klopp is one of the most established managers in the game, so will no doubt prove a success in the Premier League.

There's no reason why he won't be able to get the best out of the likes of Firmino and Philippe Coutinho, who possess the skill and class to shine on Merseyside for many years to come. Firmino, of course, is still getting used to the English game, but he could yet have an important role to play for the Reds this term.

Should Klopp hand Firmino a key role? Have your say below!
