Jurgen Klopp has defined himself as the 'Normal One' in his first press conference as the new manager of Liverpool.

The German coach, who was officially named as the club's new boss last night, has quickly excited the Kop in his unveiling today.

Unsurprisingly, the name Jose Mourinho cropped up this morning, but Klopp failed to compare himself with the self-proclaimed 'Special One', instead labelling himself as 'normal'.

Following a wonderful seven-year stint in the Bundesliga at Borussia Dortmund, Klopp has established himself as one of the most inspiring managers in the game, so it's not entirely surprising that Reds fans are happy to have him on Merseyside.

One thing is for sure, the club's faithful enjoyed this morning's press conference...

Not so normal

But Klopp's not exactly normal, is he? There are many words to describe the German coach, but normal isn't one that quickly springs to mind.

The 48-year-old really is a huge addition to the Premier League. His fiery yet friendly nature will no doubt keep the ever expecting Kop itching for more.

Ultimately, though, he will have to make an impact at Anfield sooner rather than later. He will be determined to prove his credentials in England's elite division and so many will be desperate to see him succeed. He's a likeable character, of course, but Reds fans may well have to expect the unexpected this season.
