Klopp wasting no time

All hail Jurgen Klopp. That’s right, the Anfield board wasted no time in appointing the German as Brendan Rodgers’ successor, and in turn he’s wasted no time in stating his plans for the future.

During his first message to the club’s supporters, Klopp said Liverpool needed to change to become believers, and he also confirmed - in a separate interview - that he sees himself not as another Special One, but, rather, the Normal One.

We’re willing to predict he’ll be received far from normally if he can turn Liverpool’s ailing season around.

“A message to those Liverpool supporters? We have to change, from doubter to believer. Now!" The German said.

Mascherano on Benitez

Aside from Klopp-centric speculation, former Anfield star Javier Mascherano has said he believes Rafael Benitez saved his career while on Merseyside.

Mascherano told how Benitez had lifted him out of a dark hole by signing him for Liverpool in 2007, with his career apparently stalling at West Ham prior to that.

Carragher trolls fans

Lastly, forgive us for turning back to Klopp but we can’t help ourselves. This time, it’s Jamie Carragher who shares the spotlight, with the former Anfield defender having trolled fans before a scheduled press conference this morning.

Carragher took to Twitter to praise the appointment of Klopp while also saying that he was looking forward to working with him.

Supporters immediately assumed the Liverpool hero was leaving his job with Sky Sports to return to the Merseyside fold. Carragher later cleared up the confusion.
