Werder Bremen director of sport Klaus Allofs remains convinced that striker Miroslav Klose will stay with the club despite interest from Bayern Munich and Lyon.

The Germany international has given Bayern his word that he will join them in 2008 at the latest when his contract in Bremen expires. However, the Bavarians are keen to sign him immediately, while French champions Lyon are also thought to be keen on the 29-year-old.

"He plays a central role here," Allofs told Kicker magazine.
