Germany moved closer to a place in the finals of Euro 2008 with an emphatic 6-0 win over San Marino.

The Germans had to wait until the 45th minute before Kevin Kuranyi put them ahead but the second half saw the floodgates open. Marcell Jansen doubled the lead in the 52nd minute and, following a red card to Davide Simoncini, Torsten Frings swept home a penalty.

Mario Gomez grabbed a brace within five minutes of coming on as a substitute and Clemens Fritz made it six in the 67th minute.
