Closely Guarded Secret

According to a report from PW Insider, via Marc Middleton of Wrestling Inc, Cena taking time off has been a really hot topic backstage at WWE.

Some of his co-workers reached out to Cena to see if he was alright and the United States Champion insisted everything is fine, according to the report.

"Cena reportedly told some talents that when everyone finds out why he's taking time off they will see it's a good thing. With that said, he was still very guarded," Middleton wrote.

Cena is scheduled to make his return on the annual post-Christmas WWE live event loop.

It's been reported that the 38-year old is not taking time off for an injury and nor is he likely getting married to his girlfriend, former WWE Divas Champion Nikki Bella.

It will be interesting to see what happens from here on out. Cena is the biggest star in the company right now and is a huge draw, which means that it must be pretty serious for him to take time off when the WWE is struggling so badly in TV ratings.
