Liverpool could make a January move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to The Sun.

The report claims that Reds chief Jurgen Klopp is hoping to be reunited with the Gabon international at Anfield and has put him at the top of his January transfer list.

Klopp, of course, brought Aubameyang to the Bundesliga back in 2013 when Dortmund paid St Etienne £10 million for his services.

The 26-year-old has since gone on to produce the goods for Dortmund - scoring 40 goals from 60 first team starts.

However, the same report from The Sun claims that Aubameyang could cost Liverpool as much as £35 million in the New Year, so it's far from certain as to whether the club's hierarchy will be willing to pay such a huge sum.

Regarding the future of the talented forward, a source told The Sun: “An offer of joining Liverpool now Jurgen is there would be an attractive proposition.”

Fine signing

Let's be honest, it's not going to be easy for Liverpool to secure the signature of Aubameyang, but Klopp's arrival certainly has changed things.

With the enigmatic German in charge, the Reds are now a far more attractive proposition. Klopp is one of the most exciting managers in the game right now, so there's no reason why a number of exciting players won't be interested in working under his guidance.

For now, though, the 48-year-old must concentrate on his current crop of Liverpool stars. He will be desperate to lead his new side to three points at White Hart Lane against Tottenham on Saturday.
