Carvalho the Arsenal fan

For as long as he’s been a notable name on the European football scene, William Carvalho has found himself linked with moving to Arsenal.

The Sporting Lisbon midfielder’s most recent comments, however, hint that he may well transfer there one day, as he revealed the affection he has for the Gunners.

Carvalho said he preferred not to say much, but that one club he had always been fond of was Arsenal.

"I am where I want to be right now, which is Sporting, but if I ever do leave then it's a sign that my work here was well done," Carvalho said.

"I prefer not to say too much, but there is a club with which I've always been fond of: Arsenal. Because of Thierry Henry, a player with whom I have always enjoyed watching.

He went on to suggest that he’d like to play in the Premier League in the future. Watch this space Arsenal fans.

"Maybe this is why I look with so much affection to the Premier League."

Cech's belief

Meanwhile, Petr Cech has expressed his belief that his former side Chelsea are still the favourites for the league title despite their poor start to the season.

Arsenal currently sit second in the table, eight points ahead of their west London rivals, but Cech obviously believes Jose Mourinho’s men can still stage a comeback.

Fergie on Wenger

Moving on, Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the abilities of Arsene Wenger, stating that there is no one better to replace him at the Emirates Stadium.

Wenger often deals with criticism for not having won a league title since 2004, but his former nemesis, Fergie, praised him for sticking with what he believes in.
