Wide receiver Roddy White has recently announced he would like to stay with the Atlanta Falcons for the rest of his career.

Speaking to D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the four-time Pro Bowler has denied any possible trade despite reported interest from several receiver-needy teams.

He said: “I haven’t heard any of that. I’m a Falcon. I’ll be a Falcon for life. I’ve dedicated everything I’ve got to this team and this organization. I’m going to continue to do that. I’m going to continue each and every week to get better, be a better football player and try to win.”

The reason why the Falcons might be reluctant to trade away their veteran wide receiver is because of the trust they have with him to get the job done when required.

Although he has been unproductive prior to this weekend, he was able to help his side secure an overtime win against the Washington Redskins on Sunday with two key catches and a pass interference call during their fourth quarter touchdown drive.

He may have fallen to the third option in the receiving corps behind top man Julio Jones and Lenard Hankerson, but he is still a key member of the team as he is a good blocker and he provides valuable experience.

But you never know, maybe the likes of the Carolina Panthers or the Baltimore Ravens could offer enough to sway the Falcons before the trade deadline in a few weeks.
